Ashwagandha is an evergreen shrub that grows in Asia and Africa. Also known as a Winter Cherry or Indian Ginseng, Ashwagandha is classified as a herb. It is an evergreen perennial, and is drought resistant. It grows to 1.4-1.5m. The beautiful red berries are edible, however bitter. The roots are used for medicinal purposes, and is used to aid in stress relief. In colder climates Ashwagandha is grown as an annual.
